The Becoming

After presenting Oscar with the uniform of an Apprentice, an act that formally made her ward bound in service to her AND to the Church of Bellac, and then securing a Gate Pass from Percival Pardy, obtaining a gut shot in the process, Jeanne and Oscar left Bellac for parts unknown.

However, their trip was cut short when they stumbled across a Ghoul raiding party that had just made short work of a couple dozen members of the Bellac Defense League. The two were spotted and a group of Ghouls gave pursuit. Oscar noticed that instead of retreating back to Bellac, that they were instead going AWAY from their home, but his inquiry to the matter was quickly shot down when Jeanne decided to stop and confront their pursuers. She’s really not big on talk.

It was at this time that Jeanne became aware of the fact that many of the Ghouls had ingested the Allus – the same substance that gives the Disciples their powers, complicating matters further, the Ghouls have suggested that Jeanne was the one who gave it to them! Wowzers! Confronted by Oscar about her involvement, Jeanne has opted to instead disperse their pursuers. Unfortunately, her wound chose this particular moment to begin acting up and causing her a fit of extreme pain, rendering her completely vulnerable! Oh no!

Meanwhile, back in Bellac, most of the city continues to celebrate their beloved Founder’s Day, blissfully unaware of the massacre of the Defense League – or that of their would-be-rescuers, the BDL reinforcements led by Northern Gate Captain Belmont, who according to Disciples Angelique, have also been defeated! Yikes!
